If you haven't got anything nice to say sometimes it's better not to say it...

THIS IS NOT SOCCER!

A GUIDE TO RUGBY MATCHDAY ETIQUETTE FOR THOSE FANS WHO ARE LETTING THEMSELVES AND WIRRAL RUGBY CLUB DOWN.

It’s been a pretty poor time for the reputation of rugby fans of late, here’s a guide to matchday etiquette for all those who seem to be struggling.

The behaviour of rugby supporters is now in sharper focus than ever before.
So I thought it would be a nice idea to remind you why it’s so great to be a rugby fan.

No disrespecting your own team players, it hardly inspires confidence in them does it?
There’s simply no place for it in rugby, so STOP IT.

STAY SILENT WHEN KICKERS ARE GOING FOR A GOAL.

APPLAUD GREAT PLAY FROM BOTH SIDES.
Sometimes this can be tough, but the respect between the two sides on the pitch should be huge, something which marks RUGBY as one of the best sports around. We all want our team to win, but it doesn’t mean we can’t recognise good play when we see it, enjoy the match.

RESPECT THE REFEREE.

THERE IS NO PLACE FOR ABUSING A MATCH OFFICIAL IN ANY SPORT, AT ANY LEVEL.
The pinnacle of the game is no different, all abuse must be stamped out.
The official does not need your HELP, they will make any decision based on what they see or what they believe they have seen. NOT WHAT YOU SEE, OR WHAT YOU BELIEVE YOU’VE SEEN, if the official misses something, they’re only human, move on, you screaming at them doesn’t help. No matter how polite you think you’re being it won’t change their decision, it is derisive so STOP IT.

(Derisive…
Adjective.
Expressing contempt or ridicule). Abuse, so STOP IT.

WIRRAL RUGBY CLUB NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT, BUT NOT AT ANY COST.
Think, before you offer your advice to the match official, WILL IT ALTER THE DECISION?
NO, SO DON’T OFFER IT, no matter how frustrating this can seem.

ENJOY THE GAME!
