The Ironman challenge that Nick is looking to complete is taking place on 24th June in Nice, France.
Nick states:
"The Ironman race is a long distance Triathlon consisting of a 2.4 mile swim straight into a 112 mile bike and finishing in a full 26.2 mile marathon. Temperatures in Nice at this time of year are often around the 35 degree mark making racing even more difficult.
I have been racing for 2 full seasons now building up to this race over the last 6 months. The support of my Club 'Mersey Tri' has been unbelievable and full of a wealth of experience but, this race still represents the longest single effort and hardest challenge I will have faced.
Claire House is a childrens hospice on the Wirral that does fantastic work for children from all of Merseyside and North Wales. As a charity it receives little funding and relies on the generosity of donations to keep going to help children and their families through difficult times."
I'm sure Club members will all wish Nick the best of luck and contribute generously to this worthwhile cause. In order to donate please follow this link.
