Following the Senior Rugby Section meeting last night which made progress in certain directions, Chairman- Graeme Phelan and Vice Chairman (Richard Ritchie) tendered their resignations.
They have both undertaken these positions for the past 8 years during what has been a successful period for the club, in particular promotion and retention of National League status and being one of the few clubs to continue to field 4 senior teams when other clubs are losing players and teams. It would be remiss of the Club not to thank Graeme and Richard for all the hard work they have done whilst in these positions and their contribution to the club over the many years they have been associated with Wirral. Graeme and Richard will still be available to help out the Rugby Section in other areas but now feel it is time for other people to take the club forward in these important roles.
The Rugby Section are therefore looking for members to put their names forward to take on these roles with Graeme, Richard and the committee available to give full support to those who take on these roles. It should also be mentioned that with the resignation of the Rugby Section Secretary, Chris Hughes some 3 months ago that there is also a vacancy of Club Secretary.
If any member/s wish to know about the above roles and are interested in the three positions then please contact any members of the Rugby Section committee or Graeme and Richard.
