I am delighted to be back at my club and would like to thank so many of you for the messages of support and congratulations.
The club has been my life for so many years and this next adventure gives me a chance to continue the amazing journey from 4th team player at rugby, cricketer, captain of the first team, club coach to club manager.
Firstly I would like to take this opportunity to thank the outgoing bar committee, and the executive committee, who have worked so hard to keep the club alive during the Covid-19 pandemic. The behind the scene work is unimaginable and all involved have continued to be positive throughout. There are too many people to mention and we all appreciate your efforts.
Moving forward, I believe there are exciting times ahead for the club and it’s members. Refurbishments to the club, new section chairpersons and an end to the pandemic means all of us from young to old and even older need to stick together. The club needs to be vibrant, exciting and fun, with your support and commitment this can be achieved.
The club will be re-opening on Tuesday 13th April, once the new regulations have been confirmed. Under these restrictions we can serve outside to a group of 6 at a table and unlimited numbers to groups from 2 households. We are working to adhere to these regulations and further information will follow.
I am also delighted to say that Sophie Laddle will remain as the Bar Supervisor and I will work in conjunction with her to make sure we provide an excellent service.
I am very excited, although slightly daunted by my new role and look forward to seeing all my friends back at the club again in the very near future.
