Darren is joining us at Wirral RUFC to bring in some new ideas and a fresh outlook to the senior playing squad, whilst also working closely with the junior age groups to help develop their skills and become “future stars” playing to the high standard of senior rugby that Wirral competes in.

Our values and sense of community is what attracted Darren to join us, with a team constantly trying to better themselves on the pitch and be the best they can be in competing at the highest levels, Darren wants to be a part of making this happen.

With his history playing a high standard of rugby in South Africa through High School to County level, he has much experience to bring to the lads.

In terms of goals Darren wants to push us for a promotional place! He has worked with the players over pre-season and believes that we do have the ability to succeed in this if we show consistence in our approach to the game, and work our hardest as a team “playing for our badge”.

Darren is looking forward to bringing with him a new brand of rugby to guide us through plenty of victories throughout the 2018/19 season, he thanks the committee and players for their support and making him feel welcomed throughout pre-season.
