Wirral’s talented Junior Colts squad have continued their successful season with being nominated by the Raging Bull Colts League to enter the RFU’s National U17’s Competition.

The squad is made up of 27 players from a wide range of schools and colleges in the area, many of the players having been in the squad since their mini rugby days. The Junior Colts season is the first that the squad has participated in a league and, during the Conference phase of the season so far, they have enjoyed 11 wins from 11 games.

There are four rounds in the Competition, the first round being a North of England Divisional Semi Final where Wirral have been drawn away to Dinnington RUFC on 19th March, KO 1pm. The Club is looking to arrange a coach as transport, any support would be very welcome.

Coach, Ian “Moggy” Morris, commented “They’re a fantastic bunch of lads and it’s great to see them enjoying such a successful season, playing with heart and playing for each other. The highest praise does, though, have to go to the Defence Coach, Phil DePitch.”

The Junior Colts play on Sundays with KO usually at 12:30pm, fixtures are posted on the website. They play in a true Wirral style with fast hands and fast feet making for great running rugby that’s exciting to watch. Any support for this group of players who might feature in the future of this Club is always more than welcome.

Keep an eye on the website to keep up with their progress.
