Wirral are at home this Saturday to Alnwick. Wirral visited Alnwick for the last game of last season in what turned out to be a comfortable win for the home team. Both teams are in the relegation zone due to poor form this season. Wirral are on the same points as Rossendale but with less wins they are below them with a game in hand. Wirral’s defence has ensured that they have been picking up losing bonus points but they need to turn those points into wins to move away from the relegation zone. Alnwick have lost their last 4 games with tough away fixtures at Sandal and Macclesfield. But at home they have lost out by just a point each time against Blackburn and most recently Morpeth. This is evidence that Saturday’s fixture will be extremely tight and Wirral will need to be at their best to get a victory. Wirral have Chris Speed, Ben Cornford and Daniel Harvey still out with long term injuries. Other than Jimmy Annetts, Paul Lewis, Matt Loon and Ben Brooks, Wirral should have a full squad to choose from.
