The last game of the year for the First XV promises to be an exciting contest against opposition from over the Mersey - Firwood Waterloo.

Both sides will be keen to enter the holiday season with a win as both are riding high in the league; while Sheffield Tigers continue to dominate at the top both Waterloo and Wirral will be wanting to end the year as close as possible to the Yorkshiremen.

Last season's games against Waterloo were both close affairs and the fixture at Blundellsands earlier this year was really tight with a win for the home side by 2 points only decided on the last play of the game.

With Sheffield playing Sheffield Tigers across the Pennines, both games will decide the look of the top of the league table over the Christmas period.

So, why not avoid the Christmas shopping scrum and come down to the Memorial Ground to enjoy a feast of festive rugby served up by two of the best local rugby sides. Kick-off is at 2.15PM with the Under-13s from both Clubs playing a curtain-raiser at 1.00PM.

The 3rd XV are also at home against the University of Liverpool Vets while both the 2nd and 4rd XV are away against Blackburn and Sefton respectively.
