Wirral 3s Win first game of the Season Away from Home with 13 men!

Following a "Rough and Tumble" fixture last season, expectations were set for another fiery battle as Wirral 3s travelled to Glossop for the opening game of the season.

The Season did not start well.. Wirral 3s were forced to travel with just 13 players, arriving at the host's club with just 30mins spare before kick off. Glossop showed hospitality by lending one of their own players so that the teams could line up 15 vs 14.

With a player less, Wirral 3s got off to a great start, scoring after 15 minutes, which was converted by the try scorer Tom Bradley. But Glossop responded levelling the score shortly after. However the home team's efforts were in vain as Wirral 3s scored before the break, a sniping run from the skipper Phil Tollady.

HALF TIME SCORE: GLOSSOP 7 - 14 WIRRAL

The 2nd half was a one sided affair, Wirral dominated for much of the half with good work from the forwards and devastating runs from the back line. Chances were spurned.. Particularly when Danny "Suebo" Furlong threw the ball towards the try line from 5 yards out! But Wirral came out victorious with 2nd tries from Tom Bradley, Phil Tollady, 2 tries from Neil Kenyon and a try for Danny Furlong who had scored previously to his Michael Jordan impersonation!

It was certainly a game that had "JUG EVASION" written all over it!!
