Wirral 3s make it 2 out of 2 with a win at home.vs Broughton Park 3s.

The sun shone over Wirral rugby club as Wirral 3s hosted Broughton Park 3s in their first home game of the season.

With both sides looking to continue their good form, the game began at a fast pace with both sides having an equal share of possession. Wirral took the lead with a try by full back Vinny Turner,converted by Paul Proudman. However the gamed remained in the balance.

After 20 minutes, Broughton Park were reduced to 14, when one of their players was shown a red card for high tackling.. An offence he had already been yellow carded for.

Taking advantage of the extra player Wirral applied pressure with further tries from Ben Toleman and Phil Tollady, neither try converted. Wirral were reduced to 14, with a player in the bin and the visitors were able to capitalise scoring a try and 2 penalties before the break.

HALF TIME SCORE: Wirral 3s 17 v 11 Broughton Park 3s.

Equalled in quality and performance both sides continued to battle hard, but it was Wirral who broke the 2nd half stalemate with further tries from Alan Hardy, Ahmed Ahmed, Colin Hughes and Danny "Suebo" Furlong. A mixture of players taking to the "T" for conversions, all of which were unsuccessful - Special mention goes to Ahmed Ahmed, who talked the talk but sliced well wide from infront of the posts!!

The final whistle blew, and Wirral 3s ran out victorious! 7 tries scored, but only 6 recorded?? Answers on a postcard?!!
