Wirral beat brave Sedgley

Wirral welcomed Sedgley Park to the Memorial ground looking to make it 2 from 2 in the league so far this season. The team was much unchanged from the week previous with only Jack Smith and Alex Jones missing through injury (wisely sitting out after head knocks), although Isaac Hardisty made his debut from the club after joining over the summer.
Prior to kick off, the Sedgley Park coaches disclosed that they were struggling for numbers due to an unfortunate list of injuries, and it was to their credit that they turned up to give us a game of rugby. After a brief discussion in the changing rooms, the lads agreed that it would be best for all parties to lend 2 players to Sedgley to make it more of a competitive game.
During the game, the lads scored some excellent tries against a strong defensive side that refused to be rolled over, however as the game progressed and with Sedgley Park obtaining more injuries, Wirral eventually began to turn the screw and rack up the points. There were some excellent performances during the game with stand out games from Isaac Hardisty on debut and Archie Manger pulling the strings on his first start of the season at 10. Dan Taylor and Rob Marsden were also as solid as ever in the middle of the park.
The final score finished 61-10, and Wirral will look forward to a much tighter game later on in the season when Sedgley will have their injured players back available- thanks again to the 12 Sedgley lads for making the effort to travel down. Next week see's Wirral travel to Widnes in what will be another tough game, last season saw Widnes beat Wirral in the B league before Wirral returned to Widnes later on in the league cup to revenge that defeat. Kick off is at 2pm and any support for the lads would be appreciated.
