Wirral welcomed Warrington to the Memorial Ground in what would be a tight encounter. With only Maddi Barber missing through injury, Wirral had a strong squad going into the game.
Wirral started strong and looked to settle into their style of play. A kick into the Warrington half gave Warrington their first piece of possession and from this it was clear to see they would look to play a fast paced game, with plenty of offloading, as well as looking to spread the play.
Wirral held firm and it was a mistake at the back of the scrum which gifted Warrington their first try of the game. Conversion missed 0-5.
Wirral held firm and managed to get back into the game with a try of their own in the corner, however a few penalties conceded before Half time allowed Warrington to go in 15-5 up at the break.
The second half was again very tight, with Wirral scoring early to reduce the lead to 15-10, however more mistakes from Wirral allowed Warrington to punish us and eventually the pressure turned into points when the ball was worked out wide and Warrington scored in the corner to make it 20-10. A few more penalties eventually took the game away from Wirral and although the home Side managed to grab another score, Warrington eventually ran out deserving 26-15 winners.
