The game should have been played on the 10th December, but with frozen pitches, waterlogged pitches and Christmas holidays it has been a testing time organising this fixture.
We eventually managed to organise the game for the 7th Jan but with a potential of 7 players out for Cheshire County games this was not going to be ideal. We arranged the match to take place at Stockport so that players (if necessary) could travel to the county game.
We arrived early at Stockport for an early kick off, but sadly due to frost this was not going to happen - a long morning of standing around and looking at the pitch!
At 11:50 we switched to neighbouring fields and played on the boggy pitch - hey ho
Stockport started strong and scored the first try. Wirral responded by finding their feet, and started to work off the mince pies by putting 4 tries past Stockport in the first half. Wirral never looked back, a great second half followed with a further four tries.
Great teamwork all round with passing out to the wingers and running in some excellent tries.
Looking forward to Ellesmere Port in the next round on the 11th Feb.
