Wet, boggy conditions greeted Wirral and playing up the slope and into the wind, Wirral soon set-up camp in KL's 22. But to no avail, several attempts were made to breech the KL defence but a mixture of U16's and U17's from KL put up a very spirited fight and held Wirral at bay.
Half time 0-0
Second half, Wirral started well with the slope and the wind in their favour.
KL's defence soon gave way and Wirral got their first try, scored by Jake Carter after 4 minutes of the second half. Further tries by Jordan Winstanley and another by Jake, had Wirral 15-0 after 25 minutes.
A further try, awarded as a penalty try, saw Wirral run out 20-0 winners in a very good match, well contested and played in very good spirits. Well done to both teams for a great game.
Also thanks to KL for their hospitality and good food. Much appreciated. And finally to "Butch" who refereed the game. Many thanks for standing in.
