With a much weakened squad and a stand in front row Wirral took on 14 man Altrincham Kersal.
In wet conditions Wirral opened the scoring after 9 minutes with Sandy Davidson going over. Further tries before the break by Kieran Brocken and Luke Harris saw Wirral extend the score to 17-0 at half time.
Alex Griffiths went over after the break taking it to 24-0 before AK scored a well worked try - 24-5, whilst Wirral were down to 14 men for obstruction by Mark Griffiths.
After 55 minutes Oliver Mills, having come on for Frank Richards, scored in the corner making it 29-5. Wirral received a second yellow card, going down to 13 men for a while, but managed to hold AK for the remainder of the game, running out winners 29-5.
Not the best performance from the team and if AK had had a full team the result may have been slightly different.
Bring on Caldy next week and thanks to Macclesfield for turning over Stockport. Much appreciated.
