Andrew Broadbent16 Apr 2023 - 15:13

Congratulations to Erin who first started playing rugby at Wirral and now plays at Loughborough on her selection for Leicestershire.

Erin Procter first started playing touch rugby as part of club legend Brendan Bailey’s initiative in 2012 aged 11. She went on to play touch rugby with the Wirral team and played one game of full contact rugby before leaving for Loughborough University four years ago.

Since then Erin has been playing for Loughborough University and Loughborough town’s full contact teams., making her University first team debut in 2022. Erin has now been playing prop for the first and second teams in the national BUCS competitions for past three years.

Erin who is completing her final year of a bioengineering degree, will shortly be starting a sports management masters course at Loughborough. She has combined her studies with a two year stint as University chair of women’s rugby at Loughborough University and is very proud to have followed in Brendan’s footsteps by significantly expanding the women’s section at the university as chair.

Now 22, she has won county selection for Leicestershire and is looking forward to upcoming matches in May 2023.

Erin looks back on her time with Wirral very fondly and is indebted to Brendan, Wirral RUFC and the other coaches that introduced her to the game that she loves.
