Annie Mills, who played rugby at Wirral up to U-13s with team-mates who are now at the U-16 age group has been selected to play hockey for England.

Mills is part of this year's U16 England Hockey squad and gets her first cap against Holland during a round robin of three matches over Easter weekend at Lilleshall, Salop.

Annie trialled all through the system over the past 12 months and was picked for the squad of 26 (starting from many hundreds right across England) in early March. Mills has been training across England for the past few months at Lilleshall, Bisham Abbey (Marlow) and Moreton College (Northampton).

Annie is also a key player in Neston Ladies 1st XI who won their league this season being promoted from North Hockey Women's League Division 1 (4th year in a row they have been promoted) to North Premier next season.

Well done Annie from all at Wirral Rugby Club, who wish you well in your burgeoning hockey career.
