Former Player Selected For England Counties

Andrew Broadbent24 May 2013 - 13:11

Former Wirral junior Harry Broadbent has been selected to represent England Counties on the forthcoming tour to Belgium.

Harry, brother of 1st XV Centre Sam, joined the club at the age of 9 and was a member of the successful side that won the Cheshire Cup at under 10’s and under 16’s together with numerous other trophies including the European Cup (OK it was just a small tournament in Lille but to the players, coaches and parents who were there it will always be regarded as the European Cup!!). Harry went on to play for the 1st XV before moving to Caldy where he quickly established himself in the 1st XV. This season he was selected to play for the county and his impressive performances in the recent County Championship brought him to the attention of the England selectors. Harry is still only 21 so we wait to see what future honours and achievements may await him. Congratulations to Harry from everyone at Wirral.
