This Saturday features the first home fixture of the Club's 75th anniversary season for the first XV and it is against unfamiliar opposition as the visitors are league newcomers Aspatria - a side who Wirral have not faced in the recent past.

There will be plenty of unfamiliar things for spectators at the Memorial Ground as the new look side will feature a new Captain in Craig Harvey, a crop of new(ish) players including ex-Juniors Sam Edgar, Jimmy Annetts and Joe Murray. Additionally the team will be sporting the new kit sponsored through the generosity of new Club Main Sponsor "Firtree Landscapes Ltd". Even the Clubhouse has a bit of the "new broom" about it!

After a successful start to the season away at Widnes Craig and the boys will be looking to build a solid platform with a victory at home this weekend.

Of course, some things never change, so as well as the excitement of the "new" there will be the old hospitality, great beer/wine and entertaining rugby - so come and provide the support all the pre-season effort deserves.
