Pre-match Lunch/VPs Lunch
We would like to invite you all to the Vice Presidents Lunch on Saturday 28th February 2026. We aim to sit down at 12.15pm with the game Kicking off at 2.15pm. The Vice Presidents Lunch isn't just for Vice Presidents but for all who want to attend. However, it is a day where we thank our Vice Presidents for all the tireless work they have done during their time at Wirral Rugby Club (Old Wirralians and Wirral Club Ltd), without them the club would not be in the strong position it is today.
Those members who attend infrequently or live outside the area, it would be great to welcome you back to the club, even if it's just once a year. It's great to reminisce with old friends and players. Why not get together with some of your old teammates and make a day of it. Everybody that attended the Past Players Lunch really enjoyed themselves.
The players would love your support in spurring them on. COME ON WIRRAL!!

Match Reports
Junior Colts v Caldy – Sunday 8th February
WIRRAL 17 CALDY 10
Wirral fight to come out victors as first half deadlock finds second half glory.
The junior colts travelled to Caldy this weekend as the local rivals locked horns. A first half performance saw the colts kick one penalty and meant that they went into the half time oranges 3 points a piece. With some strong defending from winger Ollie Bennett the colts were able to keep the score low as they went into the second half with the wind and the slope.
The second half saw a much-needed improvement in performance as the colts took advantage of the short pitch and conditions as they pushed Caldy back numerous times with a barrage of 50-22 kicks. The forwards were able to make good use of the lineouts as they went over for 2 tries from close range through George Stuart and Xavier Thiery-Thompson to make the score 17-3. Caldy were able to strike through the Wirral defence as they scored to take the game to 17-10. A huge defensive set to end the match made sure that Wirral secured the win and are now breathing down the necks of first placed Chester in the league.
Final score Caldy 10 - 17 Wirral
Wirral Ladies v Moore
Wirral Ladies 5 – 22 Moore Ladies
Wirral Ladies put in a vastly improved and determined performance on Sunday but were ultimately beaten 22–5 by a strong Moore Ladies side in what proved to be another tough and physical encounter between the two teams.
Moore started the brighter of the two, applying early pressure that resulted in the opening try to put the visitors 5–0 ahead. Wirral, however, responded with resilience and composure. After weathering the early storm, they began to build sustained phases of pressure and were rewarded when Laura Mason powered over the line to level the scores at 5–5. The remainder of the first half was fiercely contested, with both sides battling hard in defence. Just before the break, Moore managed to find a gap and crossed again to take a narrow 10–5 lead into half time.
Wirral came out with intent in the second half, showing confidence in attack and determination in defence. Despite some promising passages of play and continued defensive solidity, they were unable to break through a resolute Moore defensive line. Moore capitalised on their opportunities as the half wore on, adding two further tries to extend their lead and seal a 22–5 victory for the away side.
Despite the result, this was another step forward for Wirral Ladies, who showed clear improvement and strong defensive character throughout the match. They will now turn their attention to next Sunday’s fixture away against local rivals Oldershaw, where they will be eager to build on this performance.
