Saturday sees the last games of the season for both the 1st XI and the 2nd XI, the first entertain local rivals Old Parkonians, whilst the 2nd XI take the short journey to Neston. Both teams have had fantastic seasons and with the success of the mid-week team and the juniors, it has been one of the best seasons for a long time. Numbers are up at all levels, so I would like to thank everybody who has supported the cricket section this season. The following week the senior sides go to Lincoln on tour, which should finish the season on a high.
After a disappointing loss to Billingham last week the boys need to bounce back and beat Blackburn at home. The game will be played on Ocean Fields and is being sponsored by local Estate Agent Constables, so a big shout to them for their kindness. There will also be a pre match lunch served by our own MasterChef Rob Milligan, this will start at 1.00pm. Tickets for the lunch are available, contact myself or Dave van Der Zwan if you require a meal, please support the club by attending and enjoy Robs great food before being served up a feast by our first XV.
Both the 2nd and 4th team games were cancelled last week due to Orrell and Prenton being unable to get teams together, however the 3rd XV travelled to Birkenhead Park and left with a very creditable 26-19 victory. The 3rd`s are at home to Oswestry, also on Ocean Fields, whilst the 2nd team travel to Stockport and the 4th`s to Mold. Good luck to all teams and be sure to come back to the club for a beverage after the games.
The TEC continue their shortened season of bike rides on Tuesday evening from 6.00pm, the actual season is over, but all cyclists are welcome if they are still interested.
This Sunday is the Mini and juniors training day, with all the teams training. After a great start to the season with an emphatic win over Lymm JC`s the Junior Colts continue at home with a game against Trentham, kick off is at 12.30pm on the front pitch. After the conclusion of that game Wirral ladies have their first game of the season and entertain Moore Ladies, kick off for that game is 2.30pm. Let`s get down and support both teams and enjoy a refreshment or two.
After the Ladies game finishes, why not stay and watch Liverpool take on Leeds United in the premier League.
Kind regards
