Burnage 2 vs Wirral 2

Burnage (Top of the League). We thought this would be a tough fixture and we greatly welcomed the challenge...

Straight from the kick off we we’re at them!

The Wirral 2nd XV showing great physical presence refusing to take a step backwards at all costs! Both teams showed excellent fitness levels.

Burnage capitalising on a couple of missed tackles from Wirral and mange to create their lead. The 2nd XV never giving up showed great determination and continued to battle on.

We come back into the game through sheer determination and tries from Graeme Phelan & Stuart Hughes.

Late in the second half we we’re reduced down to 14 men as Phelan is put into the blood bin.

This gave us more determination and actually helped us go up a gear and grab the game by the scruff of the neck and take it too the opposition. Unfortunately, Burnage manged to hold on and with the extra man they capitalised. The match finished Wirral 10-38 Burnage.

Although beaten the 2nd XV showed tremendous heart and team spirit.
