On a damp weekend of rugby across the Wirral a ray of light shone down on the pitch dubbed Twickenham at the back of the Club where the mighty Wirral 3's played host to Lymm 3's.
What significance was the game other than, did we win or lose, that Saturday afternoon?
Well avid readers, the Wirral 3rd team was made up of 15 players that were 21 years or younger; also with three players making their debut for the senior club as a whole, Rhys James, Alfie Jones and George Burrows who scored 4 tries to cap an exceptional day.
Everyone who played for the 3's played magnificently especially seeing as the majority of them have not long been able to vote or drive a car and to win at home made for a great afternoon at the club.
It is with thanks to all the volunteer coaches and parents who have made this possible at the Club.
I wouldn't think that many teams in the area let alone the county can say they have a team with that many young players transitioned through the club to make up the majority of a whole side.
Onwards and upwards for the young players of the new generation of rugby.
