Travelling Wirralians too much for Wilmslow.

A 17 strong Wirral squad travelled to Wilmslow's Jim Evison fields for an encounter with the young Wolves.

Inside centre, Vinny, opened up the account for Wirral after just 28 seconds with a typical strong elusive run through the defenders. A second try followed 2 minutes later, when Wirral hooker Ioan broke a tackle and handed off a couple of defenders to go over for his first try of the season in club colours. A minute later, and Vinny crossed the line for his second. A minute after that, and the versatile Matt added a fourth try. Wirral's "0-60mph" full-back Luke scored his first of the game 4 minutes later - closely followed by skipper Leon's contribution on the 10-minute mark.

A couple of temporary injuries for Wilmslow left them a man down. Wirral's James L sportingly stepped into the breach, and gave a good performance for the hosts.

Matt closed the first 3rd of the game with his second try.

3rd Time Score: Wilmslow 0 Wirral 7

Wirral changes at 3rd time were Alex for Ethan R at prop, Dom for Ben at scrum-half, James L for Ethan J at wing, and Starkers for Leon at centre.

Luke secured his brace of tries after a couple of minutes, followed by a try for new centre Starkers. Vinny completed his hat-trick on the 30 minute mark - before Wilmslow responded with their only try of the game.

Ioan capitalised on applied pressure with his second try on 32 mins, before scrum-half Ben completed the second 3rd with his own try.

2nd 3rd Time Score: Wilmslow 1 Wirral 12

Wirral changed things around for the final 3rd: Starkers and Ethan R as props, Alex as hooker, Leon and James L at second row, Will at No.8, Matt at scrum-half, Harvey at stand-off, Luke and Vinny at centre, Dom and Ethan J on the wings, and Ben at full-back.

Harvey struck first with a try in the opening minutes of the 3rd. Some strong running from Will gave him his hat-trick within 8 minutes of play.

Prop Ethan R powered over for his first try of the season on 47 minutes. Wingers Dom and Ethan J came close to crossing on a number of occasions, but were ultimately held back by last ditch defensive tackling.

A strong performance from Wirral - not perfect, but still very good. Every player contributed, and the squad operated with strong cohesion. Skipper Leon demonstrated great leadership and sportsmanship throughout.

Final Score: Wilmslow 1 Wirral 17

Scorers for Wirral: Will (3), Ioan (2), Ethan R, Ben, Harvey, Vinny (3), Leon, Matt (2), Luke (2), Starkers
